In the mid 90’s while on a spring break in Miami, she met her soon to be husband – a television producer from Germany. Rebecca moved with her husband to Munich, Germany. She was soon introduced to the world of the Grammy’s, the Oscars and the Cannes Film Festival among many other similar events around the world due to her husband also being involved in the International Music Industry. This new life was quite intimidating for a small-town girl.

In the early 2000’s as a hobby, Rebecca started designing shoes for her close friends. Little did she know that they would become so sought after by numerous celebrities and high fashion magazines in Europe. With the support of her husband she started the Rebecca Charles Shoe Collection.

Sadly, in 2003, Rebecca’s husband died quite suddenly from pancreatic cancer, and she began to notice that her infant son was starting to show significant signs of developmental delays. Rebecca fell into a deep depression and decided moving forward with launching the shoe collection was not the right thing to do. She closed the company and eventually moved back to Virginia, where she devoted over a decade to seeking help for her son.

Rebecca and her son ended up in Palm Beach and that is where Rebecca and her son’s recovery finally began, she was highly impressed with the school she enrolled her son in, and to see him begin to thrive brought her great joy. As a result of her experiences in Palm Beach County, she will always consider it to be her true home.
