Rebecca Charles is known to her close friends as Rebecca Maier​. Although she is involved with the work of various charities, she has chosen National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI – Palm Beach County) to which she will donate 10% of all proceeds from her Rebecca Charles Collection.
One in five people will suffer from some aspect of mental illness at some point in their lives. Most people suffer in silence, due to the stigmatization associated with such diverse disorders. Rebecca wants to help see the stigma of mental illness come to an end.
Rebecca has noted that “Just as a house cannot be built on shifting sands, a life cannot be built while in an unhealthy state of mind”.
National Alliance on Mental Illness (of Palm Beach County)
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (of Palm Beach County) is an organization dedicated to providing support, education, and advocacy to empower persons with mental illness and their families to deal with their difficult challenges. Elimination of the stigma associated with mental illness is essential in order to achieve the goals of empowerment, social inclusion, and recovery.
